Carrying two M's at the same time?

After decades of wrong decisions, I've standardized on carrying one on the neck and one is a very small gadget bag. Samsonite (yes I know, declasse) almost gives away their small bag; it is light and well padded with easy access. The bag option allows you to carry a second camera, batteries, an extra lens, and, perhaps a close-up attachment for your DR Summicron. ron

I always carry and work with two bodies when doing street photography . The benefit is that I can have two lenses ready to shoot . Changing a lens just doesn t work in many situations (like shooting the easter processions in Seville ) . Both bodies identical black M9 s with Upstraps . Typically a 28/2 on one and the 50/1.4 on the other . 21 and 90 in jacket or vest.

Both cameras are on the shoulder ....an Upstrap doesn t slip . When I am walking I put my thumbs on the straps and pull the bodies to my chest . No banging or swinging . Sometimes I use a small bag for the lenses but prefer a vest (normally a Patagonia micro puff ..so its not a visible photographers vest ) . When its warm I have a very light travel vest .

Why two bodies ? So I can cover anything I find with different FOVs. My goal is to get close enough to shoot with the 21 or 28 but depending on the setting a 50 maybe more appropriate . I often shoot a short series ..6-12 captures in a few minutes before moving on . Having two focal lengths at the ready is important to the way I prefer to shoot.

I've searched high and low but can't find one now - there used to be a strap that was worn around the neck that has two camera straps in one. One was longer than the other and I swear the advertisement had two Leica M film bodies attached.

That looked like a great setup rather than swinging two bodies around. I have very broad shoulders so the Upstraps never fit or felt right on me...

For weddings I use a setup from Cameraslingers that enables me to carry (2) Nikon D3 bodies "at the ready". I keep a 35/1.4G on my left camera and an 85/1.4G on my right camera. Two SB-900 Speedlights are kept either in a Shootsac or a ThinkTank belt pouch to be handy when needed.

I try to shoot as much available light as possible so the speedlights are only on the body when needed to reduce the weight and improve the balance.
