Thanks for the summary, Dunk. I was also amazed at the prices for the very high end collector items. Clearly the really weathly are doing well enough to spend freely.

 

I thought the prices on normal collectibles were reasonable. I had my eye on the 100cm f6.3 Nikkor mirror lens. I did not bid, but I found the selling price to be reasonable.

 

I did buy two Zeiss items at far less than I anticipcated. I wish they would have auctioned Leica lots last. I had some money left to spend, but after the "Zeiss" everything I might have bid on was already hammered down.

I have a good idea who was buying the high end collectables - probably not Europeans.

Dunk, do you think it was one or two buyers? Were they end-buyers or dealers expecting to resell for a profit? I guess I should listen in on the next auction. Zeitz

 

Dealers from Far East buying on behalf of their collector clients. Same dealers were buying in London last week.
