Some 10 months ago, I started a thread centered on my 1941, uncoated, 35mm f3.5 Elmar (http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-collectors-historica/222689-elmar-3-5-cm-1-3-a.html). Andy revived the thread last month and that led me to go back to the old stone church to fulfill my promise and to compare the performance of my old Elmar at f3.5 and f8.0. For comparison, I also brought along my 1973 Summicron (III) and my 35mm f3.5 Perar. Photos were taken on a tripod with my M9, ISO 80 (for Summicron @ f2.0 and 1/4000s).

Here are the results:

The full scene, Summicron 35 @ f8.0:

Summicron 35 @ 2.0, center:

Summicron 35 @ 2.0, top center:

Summicron 35 @ f8.0, center:

Summicron 35 @ f8.0, top center:

Elmar 35 @ 3.5, center:

Elmar 35 @ 3.5, top center:

Elmar 35 @ 8.0, center:

Elmar 35 @ 8.0, top center:

...and now I have reached my limit of 10 attachments, so I'll just show you the Perar's top @ 3.5 - Perar 35 @ 3.5, top center:

Quite interesting!

( with my apologies, I have not figured out how to manage the attachments properly and Andy's video will not run on my [Windows] computer )
