NikonandLeica Posted November 22, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would like to replace my Canon Ixus with a compact Leica, but it got to be 100% Made in Germany. Is there such a thing available, if yes, which model/s? And which one/s would you recommend most? Do all compact Leicas support RAW?
Advertisement Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Hi NikonandLeica, Take a look here Made in Germany. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted November 22, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2012 Welcome to the Forum Leica do not have a camera made 100% in Germany. Their "german" cameras are all substantially made in Portugal, and components are obviously sourced from various countries. Therefore, what excatly do you mean by "made 100% in Germany"? NikonandLeica Posted November 22, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted November 22, 2012 Made in Germany = assembled in Germany
andybarton Posted November 22, 2012 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2012 The X2, any M and the S cameras are all finally assembled in Germany, but partially assembled in Portugal. The D-Lux 6 and V-Lux 3 cameras are Panasonics and made in Asia. The X2, the only compact finally assembled in Germany, will shoot RAW.
jaapv Posted November 22, 2012 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2012 I doubt that any modern camera is madeinsomewhere. The parts market is globalized.
