Iduna Posted November 6, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted November 6, 2012 K.-H, Â Do you hear their sounds? Great shot with their typical formation and so sharp, that you can recognize the individuals.
k-hawinkler Posted November 6, 2012 Author Share #4 Â Posted November 6, 2012 Paul, Iduna, Thank you. Â Paul, The formation was a lot longer, but only this much fit onto the sensor. Â Iduna, Â Yup, one first hears the birds, then one tries to find 'em visually, sometimes unsuccessfully. They can fly very high. Best photographic opportunity is when they are relatively low and use thermals to gain hight for the next stretch.

k-hawinkler Posted November 9, 2012 Author Share #9 Â Posted November 9, 2012 Ece, Â Thank you so much. Â Here http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/1628974-post13.html are quite a few pictures from previous years. In one instance the cranes were circling directly above our house and were so close to the ground that we could feel the pressure waves emanating from their beating wings. That was an incredible experience. Â One more picture: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/1630067-post18.html
