pop Posted October 26, 2012 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) By a fortunate incident I happened upon the place where they were erecting the mobile Ferris wheel for the fall fair. It's one of the world's largest mobile wheels and has a height of 60m or roughly 200 ft. The assembly takes a crew of perhaps six or eight people several days. The base upon which the legs will rest is standing; in the background the spires of the Basel Münster (cathedral) which are some 65m tall. The legs are assembled using a crane and much manpower.

pauledell Posted October 27, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2012 Philipp, I like the second shot as it gives the viewer an idea of the mechanism and the last for the detail and interest. Paul
