cmarbach Posted March 17, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 90mm Tele-Elmarit f2.8 that won't focus (in the viewfinder) at infinity. I can't get the two images to merge in the focusing window. It does this on my M8 and M6, so it must be the lens. Is there an adjustment I can make or does it have to go for service? doubice Posted March 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2007 Hello Carl, The focusing helicoids of the 90mm Tele-Elmarit are rather complex and adjustments are best left to experts. Have you just bought the lens or had it for a while and just noticed it? All the best, Jan
cmarbach Posted March 17, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted March 17, 2007 It was my dad's and hasn't been used in a while. I just took it out to use on my new M8 andI sent it away for coding and cleaning and checking. I guess I'll have to send it back.....

If it was fine before its visit to New Jersey, than a proper re-calibration was probably missed during the change of the mount. Jan

I had the same problem with my M90cron per-asph. after it tested gravity in a way I didn't want it to do After checking and turning in all the screws in the mount, it was OK again - only one moon in the rangefinder. Good luck ;-) Torsten
