mark_a_h Posted July 20, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) It was very dark in the garden last night. It was midnight and I used the D2 bounce flash and a soft Lastolite reflector for lighting. To focus, I used a flashlight to light up the flowers just to see them in the viewfinder. In processing, I decided to eliminate any white clipping, but have a lot of deep black. Average exposure time... 4 seconds, ISO 100. I'd like to try this again when it's windy. But noise is a problem.
Advertisement Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Hi mark_a_h, Take a look here In the garden at night.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 20, 2006 Mark - Please, please, please do NOT post links that take us to sites that cause pop-up adverts. It is annoying enough to have to click on your other three images to see them large, but then extra annoying to have the pop-ups. I prefer not looking at the larger images if I have to see them this way. Didn't we have a variation on this discussion about a month ago, or was it another Forum member? Regarding the first photo (I'll not launch the others), I like the colors and the sense of softness to the petals achieved in spite of the good focus and steadiness of the camera. However, I think it needs to be punched up a bit.
