luigi bertolotti Posted October 5, 2012 Share #3 Posted October 5, 2012 What is a Leica M2 with "Betriebskamera" inscribed over the serial number? Is it rare?[/quote] Yes - cameras for internal lab are of course a small % of the items for the market... with the usual warning that any engraving is easy to reproduce (and the lettering of this specific engraving is well known and documented)
sksaito Posted October 6, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted October 6, 2012 Thank you for the info. Just to confirm then, it still functions just like any other M2. There may be "impostors" out there.
luigi bertolotti Posted October 6, 2012 Share #5 Posted October 6, 2012 Sometimes (but not always) Betriebsk can be also interesting if,as prototypes, have some feature "odd" or anyway different from production items (examples : shape of the wind lever, postion of some details...); other can be identical to productions... to say, items that in any case deserve a close look.
