Morten Grathe Posted March 17, 2007 Share #22 Posted March 17, 2007 How does i balance on the M8. I'm torn between the noctilux and the summilux. I like the idea of a small lens, but on the other hand f1 is also nice...
Guest M8-Freak Posted March 17, 2007 Share #23 Posted March 17, 2007 The Noctilux is my favourite lens. The weight does not disturb me. I love it for such photos. I'm torn between the noctilux and the summilux.I like the idea of a small lens, but on the other hand f1 is also nice... Actually, my chrome 50mm Summilux weighs 476 grams and the Noctilux weighs 607 grams. I don't notice the difference in weight very much. The Noc is significantly larger in diameter but I still find it easy to hold. The Noc requires about 160-degrees of travel to go from close focus to infinity, whereas the Sum takes only 90-degrees, so the Sum is easier to quickly spin into approximate focus, but the Noc gives you more precise control. I hope this helps. I wouldn't sell either lens. They're just too good at what they were designed to do.
