IWC Doppel Posted September 24, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) After four calls to Epson I realise that finding somewhere near to myself to see and assess a 3880 printer is too difficult ! Anyone have any advice where I might travel to phyically see one and perhaps compare to a 3000 before purchase ? I am in Herts but can travel into London
Advertisement Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here Epson 3880 printer on display nr London ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted September 27, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 27, 2012 I'm on the other side of the pond, so no help in your search. But I wonder what you hope to see in person. The print quality is similar, and frankly you'll only understand real differences after establishing proper profiles, settings and workflow by experimenting in your own environment. Most other key differences are known based on reviews and specs, for instance R3000 versus 3880. Based on the specs, you'll want to ask yourself about need for bigger prints (13in vs 17in), size of cartridges (25.9ml versus 80ml), need to switch from photo to matte black (the ink used will be similar, but will represent a far greater percentage of cartridge capacity in the 3000), need for roll paper (the 3000 has rear roll capability; the 3880 does not), size and weight, etc. Jeff
