theo,

thats almost impossible, then both should be taken with same settings at last. in this resolution i wouldnt see it anyway. but as you used different names for them, i would guess the one ending with "p" is the panasonic one ;) .

These appear to be slightly different focal lengths, probably due to either the indicator on the Sumi lens barrel, or the effect of the different aspect ratio of the CCD chips in the two cameras. Further, in the case of the M8 we are seeing the results of a much larger and newer sensor, which alone may account for most of the differences. For example, the Nocti (#1) photo has much better colors and details in the trees, but the Sumi has better sharpness in the overhanging needles and distant peaks (the distant peaks just may appear sharper due to the greater contrast). We're really testing too many variables to know exactly which lens does what.

Useless or not, or a different color was not the point, the sharpness in the bottom one is better then the top one. Blowing it up to 50% the bottom one Panasonic LC1- F8 is still sharp with 5 megapixels

The first one is the noctilux taken with F16 and it is not sharp and get blurry by blowing it up to 50%. Clearly to me my M8 or in combination with the lens is not in focus.

Anyway thanks for looking and the comments.
