Had time this evening to check the different picts about and have to note that the high quality of chrome plating have protected the top and the base of the IIIa camera made in 1939. jaques Posted September 28, 2012 Share #23 Posted September 28, 2012 The camera may have been buried in a boggy type marsh anaerobic environment... meaning the cloth shutters remained intact but the alloy camera body shell has been eaten away by the (possibly) acidic environment? whatever the case I would tend to believe this listing is entirely legitimate. There are several videos on youtube of people hunting for items on these battlefields- and a look at the sellers items indicates he has access to some of those items...
