Could Leica make a LV camera with an APS-C CMOS sensor?

There was/is a rumour that Leica were/are considering a smaller format interchangeable lens camera. If they could make an EVIL LV camera with an APS-C CMOS sensor, it could open up another potential market ... and would be in line with their recent statement about making smaller lenses.

Furthermore, such a sensor could be used for a future X series camera.

the market is already open - it wasn't when they started talking about it. too late.

designing and producing a new line of smaller lenses for a market in which contestants have big maket shares, presumably lower pricetags and frankly not too bad cameras takes a lot of effort. right now leica is not even able to produce their traditional lenses in demanded numbers.

by the way, thy have the leica-branded panasonic stuff in that market (ok, right - it's 4/3, not aps-c).

maybe they have good reason to do like they're doing.

Entering the me-too market would be the death of Leica.

It would be like Ferrari making a 4 cylinder four seat vehicle.
