Mmmm... this is very possible.

Just been sniffing the windows driver during my dinnertime and a problem I see is not knowing how (or if it is possible) to change the Menu items (the Set ones are OK). Can't see anything in the DLL exports to do that either.

While sniffing around, do you see any method to trip the shutter via the USB port using a simple switch? It should be possible by connecting just two wires. (Looking for way to trip the shutter without using a cable release or self-timer, as any reasonable digital camera design does.)

... Maybe the M8 forum needs to be parked as we cannot allow any negativity towards the brand or the new products hey?

And yes I do own an M8.

Since you've quoted me I assume this was aimed at me but I can't think why. You'll need to help me understand if you're accusing me of trying to scotch negativity against Leica because that was not intended and rereading my post I can't see it either. I was merely commenting on your impatience at receiving a reply; the rest is your interpretation.

Pete.

Hey pico,

You can trip the shutter, but not with just shorting a couple of wires - the USB port is just an interface for a computer to talk to the internal CPU via a protocol - it is not directly connected to any camera operations.
