Giulio Zanni Posted March 14, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I still haven't had the chance to see any comprehensive review of the Digilux 3/L1. I would be interested in your feedback on the high Iso performance and low light auto-focus capabilities. Â Thank you, Giulio

dugby Posted March 14, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Have you searched through these fora...? Â There has been many postings of D3 / L1 images in low light. Â Search on "D3 OIS" or "L1 OIS"
Bo_Lorentzen Posted March 15, 2007 Share #3  Posted March 15, 2007 The Digilux 3 does well, just don't crank up the ISO too much. (smile) here is one with fill-flash bounced off a wood door and a bit slow shutter dragging to pull in a bit of exterior.   Bo  My Leica scratch page - random thoughts , pictures and such. sean_reid Posted March 15, 2007 Share #4  Posted March 15, 2007 I still haven't had the chance to see any comprehensive review of the Digilux 3/L1. I would be interested in your feedback on the high Iso performance and low light auto-focus capabilities. Thank you, Giulio  I'm testing one right now for a review. Haven't yet done anything with high ISO yet. Based upon what I've seen so far...The D3 will focus in low light and the AF assist beam seems to help it quite a bit. The AF response slows down as light levels drop but I've yet to see the lens hunt. So in a bar at night, for example, the kit lens will not focus nearly as quickly as, say, a Canon 50/1.4 on a 5D but it will focus even in quite dim areas. In brighter light, AF is quite speedy.  Cheers,  Sean
Riley Posted March 15, 2007 Share #5  Posted March 15, 2007 So in a bar at night, for example,......  ummm, ok pass lol ...  there's a guy over at steves forum with a pretty good look at the similar E-330 at high iso probably worth a look see  http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=117447&forum_id=36  results look very encouraging
Iron Flatline Posted March 15, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted March 15, 2007 Yeah, I was always surprised that DP Review doesn't really cover the Leica gear. Â Sean, I look forward to seeing the review. I have an odd crush on that camera (but want to make sure it's actually good.)

The E330 had noticeably lower noise at 1600 than the other two. AP also liked the more "film like" look of the E330 files.
