Hans Roggen Posted March 14, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, Â Not exactly digital, but i use it on my M8 and most of you seem to hang out here. Can anyone tell me what the selling price for my 35mm summicron from the old days approximately should be? I haven't got a clue and can't seem to find similar lenses. It's the canadian made version with that thingy on the aperture ring. Â Thanks, Â Hans

Hans Roggen Posted March 14, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks, but that's not the same lens. It's the much newer asph type. Mine is from '69. Â Hans

wparsonsgisnet Posted March 14, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Sorry, I tried to get a non-asph lens, but I blew it. I'll look again. Â The first of these went tor $1140 on Mar 4th; the second, for $800 on Mar 3rd. The chrome may fetch more. Â eBay: Leitz Leica Summicron-M 2/35 lens, eight element !! (item 140090187136 end time Mar-04-07 16:30:00 PST) Â eBay: Leitz Leica Summicron-M 2/35 lens !! (item 140089823037 end time Mar-03-07 16:30:00 PST) Â I'm glad if you get them cheaper than on eBay. It may be, however, that these prices reflect the current shortage of new lenses.
seaninsurrey Posted March 14, 2007 Share #6  Posted March 14, 2007 Check out this link: http://members.aol.com/dcolucci/a.htm  The second item above was for a 3rd version. The 4th version, the version I think you have, has a later serial number within 2,970,000 - 3,731,000.  I've just bought one from eBay and paid £530 with leia hood and lens cap. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=250091562013&rd=1&rd=1  Hope this helps! fuchs Posted March 14, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Hans, that is a second version (6-elements) Summicron 35mm. It is one of the less sought after versions, due to the "big tooth" tab to move the aperture ring. It is not different optically from the following 3rd. version. Its price range varies from USD 650 to USD 850 depending on optical, cosmetic and mechanical conditions, accessories offered (as the 12504 Hood, filters, rear cap and both front caps, etc) and originality of the outfit (ie, including boxes, plastic bubble, etc). carstenw Posted March 14, 2007 Share #8  Posted March 14, 2007 The 3rd version sells for about €800 and the 4th (35/2 Asph) for about €1200, if you are patient and want a good copy. The earlier versions, like the 2nd edition '69 version here are less sharp and less sought-after. I don't know what it would cost though. I'll keep my eye open.
