StephenR Posted September 15, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm a new digi-5 owner and cannot figure out how to get the built-in flash to work in the snapshot mode. I've gone through the manual to make sure the appropriate settings are correct (no burst, no multi-film, etc.) i still get the Xed out flash symbol in the snapshot mode. thoughts on how to get the flash working in the snapshot mode? thanks! Advertisement Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Hi StephenR, Take a look here Digilux 5 flash in snapshot mode. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Tietje Posted September 15, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2012 Unlike a lot of cameras, the flash doesn't come on automatically. You have to flick the little switch on the far left of the top-plate where there is the tiniest of flash symbols! The flash will then pop-up and the flash off symbol will disappear from the rear screen ! Hope that helps.
JOM51 Posted September 15, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2012 You just have to open the flash. On the top plate left slide the open switch to the right. greetings, Jorge
StephenR Posted September 15, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted September 15, 2012 Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned that I had the flash opened, gone through the steps in the manual, but the flash symbol is still Xed out and it won't flash. I suspect that there is some other setting somewhere that i am missing. Further thoughts appreciated!
Tietje Posted September 15, 2012 Share #5 Posted September 15, 2012 Just tried again with the flash in snapshot mode (A on the dial). When the flash is up you can't control it with the menu. I've a Canon G7 and one day the flash just gave up, presenting the flash symbol with a line through it permanently. Hope this isn't the case with yours but its worth considering.
