Cargo vessel in the lock of Birsfelden. As you can see, it's a really tight fit.

For those who take an interest in such things, the hydropower plant which operates the lock has this to say about the lock's dimensions. Also, the ship's name and registration has been changed. Her name is now "Brigitte", Antwerpen. Her former name can still be seen and it's Aegerisee (Lake of Aegeri), Basel.

Sadly we have arrived at the end of the 27th Barnack's Monthly and again the thread was filled with lovely shots and excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme. this month was a Barnack's Monthly record with 208 posts!

Thank you to everyone who helped make September's Barnack's Monthly a success by either posting, thanking, or just looking and I hope you enjoyed doing it and will do it again.

Special thanks to those who posted for the first time in the thread and if you did please post some more because we'd love to see it!

You will find Barnack's Monthly for October 2012: SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH S here.

I do hope you will follow the link and post some shots.

Pete.
