Guest Ming Rider Posted September 4, 2012 Share #21 Posted September 4, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) That's 27,180 exposures assuming 36 exposure film. I wager most Monochroms won't even get near that ? Expensive trinkets.
Advertisement Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Hi Guest Ming Rider, Take a look here M Monochrome?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tom0511 Posted September 4, 2012 Share #22 Posted September 4, 2012 I am more a digital shooter than film shooter (still own some film cameras and shoot a film maybe every 6 months) - here is my opinion: 1) If a camera has such good shaddow information I find clipping in the highlights not so much a problem. You also have a histogramm so I would just try to avoid to expose to high and rather expose moderate and then bring up the shaddows a bit if necessary. 2) I think there is one big difference in the image from an MM compared to film: there is no grain in the MM image. And thats why I would say there is a different look. 3) Personally I like the look of film, but I hate scanning, I hate the large files one gets from scanning, I like the instant feedback and simplicity of digital photography. If I had unlimited time, and a very good lab nearby I might shoot film only. I dont have either so I shoot digital. And so I also accept some "drawbacks" of digital like clipping (or having to be carefull to avoid clipping). I find the MM tempting - a) the simple approach to just shoot b&w, the tonality , the high ISO capability What was the question again?

Guest Ming Rider Posted September 4, 2012 Share #24 Posted September 4, 2012 question was, will the m10 will render the mm moot . . .. . I wager One Italian Lira to each forum member, that there won't be an M10 at Photokina 2012.
