TDR Posted March 13, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can't seem to make my M8 update the firmware. I believe I've followed the instructions explicitly (that may be my mistake). I formated the SD card in the camera. I got the exec file onto the SD card, put it in the camera, closed the bottom plate and turned it on. Nothing. I'm using a fully charged battery. I've tried a second SD card. I've tried downloading the file a second time to make sure nothing happened during the dowloand. Any ideas? Â This is my second go at the M8. My first one had blue-line syndrome, a little vertical blue line like a perfect scratch, which has been noted elsewhere on this forum. (I read the forum assiduously for weeks before deciding to make my purchase.) Fortunately Leica swapped that camera with a new one, which appears to be in perfect shape, except for this latest little challenge. Â Thanks for any suggestions you can provide. Advertisement Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Hi TDR, Take a look here Firmware update won't work. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
blakley Posted March 13, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 13, 2007 Did you put the firmware update file in the card's root directory, or down in one of the folders? It needs to be in the root directory. The file needs to be unzipped too, if your browser & OS doesn't do this automatically.
