farnz Posted August 21, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2012 A note to potential international bidders: according to Amateur Photographer bought (won) items have to be collected from the shop in Leicester. It doesn't sound like the auctioneer will arrange postage but it's not clear from the Conditions of Sale which repeatedly refer to the Special Conditions. I haven't been able to obtain the Special Conditions and it seems likely that the Special Conditions are only available after you've registered. Regrettably a condition of registration is agreeing to be bound by the Conditions of Sale, and thereby also the Special Conditions that can't be viewed, so I think I'll pass on principle. Pete. Typing in Leica as search term I get a long list of lots but clicking the lots brings up a page that the "auction is not active yet". Looks like you put in a maximum bid amount and if that is topped they e-mail you. Depending on value bids go up in £25,£50 etc steps - it is all on the site. Privacy Statement and Cookies If you are still concerned, the other option would be to register with false details to check out the T&Cs and only provide them with the correct info if you are satisfied and want to bid on something. Personally, I think there is too much of this compulsory harvesting of personal data before allowing people to access information.
