elansprint72 Posted March 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Translated into US "English" Color shot from a gray place. Moelfre, Anglsey, Wales (near England). 25 years ago this beach was full of working fishing boats, drawn up by winch and hawser. 5 years ago the village had a full range of shops. Now they have a baker, a chippy, a wool (knitting) shop and a touristy crap shop. No idea where they buy food from. Part of the problem is the ratio of second homes on the Island. Advertisement Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Colour shot from a grey place.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted March 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2007 Pete, what delightfully sad colour. The sea weed on the beach works well with the angle of the shot - nicely seen.
andybarton Posted March 12, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 12, 2007 Pete This would really benefit from a Levels tweak, at the top end. It really brings it to life (ditto, Wasdale... )
elansprint72 Posted March 12, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted March 12, 2007 Thanks guys: I though that the wall and the tide-lines would lead in to the fortuitously (sp?) placed red blob. How's this version? It would take more than a levels tweak to brighten up the village.
azzo Posted March 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2007 Lovely capture Pete and the tweak lifted it nicely. If I were you, i'd try this one in b&w..phew ! Azzo
Mustafa Umut Sarac Posted March 14, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 14, 2007 First picture is like a 1980s National Geographic Tiffdruk print. Second shot is like a National Geographic of the late 90s and beginning of 2000s. I hated this sterile version of color seperation and quit to read NGM. Trust your film and lens , do not play with photoshop too much. If possible use ektachrome or kodachrome . I think you learned to trust and use of Leica viewfinder , this is good. Best , Mustafa Umut Sarac
mitchell Posted March 14, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like the first version better. YMMV. Best, Mitchell
