Simon Gleave Posted March 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I read wth fascination the problems that a lot of you guys are having with the m8 in terms of reliability, IR filters etc.. On the other hand I have now taken my DMR from minus 25 to plus 40, in the snow, sun, rain and mist. So far it has performed flawlessly which amazed me since at minus 25 after about 10 minutes everything else didn't work (including me!). I am happy enough to continue to purchase new lenses with a view to using this camera for many years. Although I also look forward to the R10 as I hope for a few more mega pixels and full frame to use the wonderful lenses to their limits. The 90mm f2 I think is truely one of the finest portrait lenses ever made, picture taken this weekend of my wife to show its ability.

cam2000 Posted March 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2007 I can only speak for myself but my M8 has been working just fine...... I have no regrets.... we have something in common..... I love the AA Summicron 90mm lens...... Congratulations on this fine portrait beautiful young lady!
sdai Posted March 12, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 12, 2007 I've shot less than 500 frames with mine and so far have no problems except the well-known magenta cast (now it becomes a norm ). I have also had a DMR for little less than a year with an outdated R8 and had no complain with that either ... despite the fact that I don't use it much at all.
