Jetzt ist es soweit: Seit 30 Jahren auf der Straße. 1994er 945. Ob er ein gewisses "Maß an kulturhistorischem Wert" besitzt? Um ein H-Kennzeichen zu bekommen? Keine Ahnung. Da er noch voll Dienst tut, ist das ohnehin wenig interessant. Aber immerhin ist so ein Swedish Brick, egal ob 2er, 7er oder der 9er in gewissen Punkten legendär: Platz ohne Ende. Weigert sich standhaft zu rosten. Und läuft unerschütterlich vor sich hin. Die 2,3 Liter 4 Zylinder bringt so schnell nichts um. Altes schwedisches Gusseisen – der Red-Block. Das sind die Vierzylinder mit dem rot lackierten Gusseisen-Block, die Volvo zwischen 1974 und 1998 mit Hubräumen von 1,8 bis 2,3 Liter unter anderem in die Modelle 240, 740 und 940 gepflanzt hat. Wenn es ein Ranking für den zuverlässigsten Vierzylinder-Benziner aller Zeiten gäbe: Dann vielleicht sogar konkret der B230FB. Diese Niedrig-Kompressionsvariante mit 131 PS gilt als 2,3-Liter-Sauger mit 600.000 Kilometern gerade als gut eingefahren. Er hat jetzt 280.000 auf der Uhr. Also auf in die nächsten 30 Jahre....
