Hello,

I just managed to hand-code my CV15. As there is no other 15mm lens, I just used the WATE code. Now the EXIF shows "18mm".

Yes, I am glad it worked at all- but wouldn´t it be nicer to have the "16mm"? How can I reach that?

Can you post a photo please Stefan - showing the mount and the coding? I was not able to code mine since the mount is cut away where the marks need to go and I cannot find the alternative adaptor mount is not cut away in this manner.

Thanks!

You can't. The camera currently knows nothing about the selected focal length and the value of 18mm seems to be a stop-gap until V1.10. Then, we're expecting a menu item somewhere where you will dial in the focal length you have selected.

So, with a WATE on the M8, you will select the focal length, select the finder view on the Franken-Finder, making a quick mental adjustment for the crop factor (why couldn't they do a sticky to put on the FF for M8 users to overlay the standard focal lengths with the effective ones on the M8? 16-18-21-24-28 would become 12-14-16-18-21) and then select the focal length on the menu. What a palaver!

@mark

I don´t like that term "FrankenFinder". Better to say BKMO ("Boris Karloff Memorial Optics")...

@tashley

I´ll post photos later. I used an old Leitz adapter that has no cutout.

It seems that Leica/Solms has an small amount of adapters in their warehouse. Please contact them directly, it could be that your request will be solved.

Thanks to both Stefan and Bernd.

Bernd, that's a really good lyric - you should get someone to set it to music!

Tim,

I bought a Leitz 9cm adapter here (look under Leica M accessories), but pricey at $85. I coded it as a 21mm for use with both my CV 21 and CV 15.

Thanks Carl,

I think I tracked down a slightly cheaper one but, as a Leica owner, naturally I will follow your suggestion first ;-)
