andyedward Posted July 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an MP and a 50mm lens on the way, and will need to protect them with a small hard case as some of the locations I shoot at are difficult to access. I have been looking for a case which will take the camera with lens attached, but doesn't leave any excess, unnecessary space. The smaller Pelicases, Storm, Vanguard and Nanuk models that have sufficient height are too long and wide, and I am struggling to find anything suitable. Any recommendations would be gratefully received! Edited July 20, 2012 by andyedward

bocaburger Posted July 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) I've bought a couple of Invicta wristwatches recently and they shipped them in 2 sizes (3-watch about 10x12 and 8-watch about 12x14) of Pelican-style gasketed hard case. Inside they have foam with cut-outs for large watches, which fit an assortment of typical Leica lenses perfectly or with a little cutting, larger lenses or a body. Cool watches and free camera cases. Hard to beat. Edited July 20, 2012 by bocaburger
Paul J Posted July 20, 2012 Share #4 Posted July 20, 2012 I use Pelican Cases. I've not found anything better. I have loads of different sizes. I have a small Pelican case 1300 which I sometimes use for One body, 3 lenses, Batteries, Cards. Fits perfect. A quick google and I found this. I think the smaller 1150 would be fine for what you need.

The Peli 1150 looks to be the smallest I've seen so far, so I'll buy it if I find no alternative while I wait for my MP to arrive

andyedward Posted July 20, 2012 Author Share #8 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) This comparison shows that the 1120 is even smaller. Jeff Thank you, Jeff. I was thinking the 1120 would be too small to fit an MP with lens attached(?). The 1150 looks good though, thanks for the link. Printmaker Posted July 20, 2012 Share #9 Posted July 20, 2012 Make sure the case you pick floats your kit. A Pelican is cheap insurance.
Messsucherkamera Posted July 20, 2012 Share #10 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) You can't beat Pelican cases - they offer the most protection for the best price. It's just a matter of finding the right size for your camera and lens. Edited July 20, 2012 by Messsucherkamera
