lm_user Posted July 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wouldn't it be nice if cornerfix could be built into the camera? The user could enter CF mode and snap pictures of an evenly illuminated uniformly white subject. The camera could then generate a custom transfer function to correct for color shift using a specific lens/camera combination. Exit CF mode and happily take pictures! No post processing required. I have read on the forum that some combinations of wide angle lenses and cameras still result in some color shift which users have to correct using CF. Not all users seem to experience problems. I have not. Others have postulated that the reason that some users experience color shift is due to the variation in the relationship between the sensor and the lens. Calibrating with software each specific lens/camera combination should correct for small variations. The biggest challenge is finding the evenly illuminated white subject for the calibration process. However, CF seems to be working for users today. While I have not had any problems myself, a feature like this would make me more comfortable with future M camera purchases.
