Guest WPalank Posted July 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for reading. As the title suggests I am looking for a brand new Noctilux via a Dealer. If anyone comes across one of these rare creatures, could you please ask the dealer to take it off the shelf and contact me immediately at william<at>palankphoto.com. My phone can be found via "Contact" on my website. US Dealer preferred but not a requirement. Thanks in advance for your help. There is one available at a reputable Swedish dealer if you want to go through the hassle of buying from the EU. Call "Mattsons Foto" in Lund, Sweden on +46 46 14 85 00 It is available now, but probably not for long.

Guest WPalank Posted July 20, 2012 Share #5 Posted July 20, 2012 Don't forget to claim your VAT back Thanks for that Andy. Happened to wake up at 1AM this morning and saw matlep's post (thanks so much for getting the phone #correct). I talked to a very nice man who's English is perfect (my Swedish is a little rusty) and it WAS still available.

Guest WPalank Posted July 20, 2012 Share #9 Posted July 20, 2012 Thank you gentleman for your comments. But according to Stefan, we have just a little bit of red tape if I don't want to pay the tax. The gentleman who handles that will be in on Monday.

darylgo Posted July 25, 2012 Share #17 Posted July 25, 2012 there's one in stock at B&H right now...must resist I couldn't resist, I tried but it's like a black hole, nothing escapes. WPalank - if you haven't made a purchase try Samy's Camera (Fairfax location), they had some available in the past. The only down side is the state sales tax, but that might be easier than a foreign purchase. Not sure if Passport protection is available outside the US, that could prove very valuable. In addition, you might pay an import tax on such an expensive item.
Guest WPalank Posted July 25, 2012 Share #18 Posted July 25, 2012 Hi Daryl, thanks so much for your suggestions. I am happy to state that I am the proud owner of a Noctilux. I have taken it through a couple of it's paces and everything seems to be in exceptional order. thank you everyone for your help.
darylgo Posted July 25, 2012 Share #19 Posted July 25, 2012 Congratulations on your new lens, mine arrives today ....waiting, waiting, waiting for UPS. It is quite remarkable that the lens is in such short supply that the search becomes worldwide. I remember reading somewhere (maybe here on the forum) that production is 12/day and it is not made everyday, so I am curious what production is on a yearly basis, anyone know? Paul J Posted July 25, 2012 Share #20 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm still not over the buzz of shooting with this lens, you're gonna love it. Wide open is sublime and stopped down is mind blowing.
