O no, another strap thread!

Couple of questions for you all...I use the supplied stap with the X2 and it;s nice enough..at times I prefer to use a wrist strap.

First question is, although I can change straps, sometimes it's a bit tedious to attach and reattach with the little rings...Drives me crazy if I am in a rush actually. Anyone know of any quick release solution for this?

On a similar subject i bought the Leica wrist strap and it's not at all what I want..I should be used to spending more for Leica products but this one is hard to justify as I really don't like it much anyway..

I would like a wrist strap that really feels 'connected' tot he camera or my hand..I will need one for my MM when it comes to....Never had one for the M9 but needed it too.

Thanks for reading!

It is hard to beat Gordy's straps for the M bodies. For the X1, I use the Op-Tech finger cuff, and sometimes the Gordy's strap.:)

Looks ok, thanks..

I think I want some sort of 'glove' or something a bit different...worth a trip to B&H...and even more so with the M9 or MM...

I'lll report back what I find.

Just received my Leica wrist strap...what a POS!

Going back to B&H in the morning.

Ordered a Gordy wrist strap/

The Gordy strap looks better and maybe for the X2 would be ok...but I want something different, hard to explain and it's frustrating as it's really important to me. It's almost like I want a length of leather and wrap it around my hand or wrist and get it just 'right'...other photographers undoubtedly feel the same way (i guess).

As a purely functional item, I find nothing wrong with the Leica wrist strap. It does exactly as I would expect and provides me with added security against accidentally dropping the camera. Silk might look more special, but possibly attracts more static electricity than leather.

For some reason, I have no idea what you are looking for. My mind just isn't clicking on what you are saying. The A&A silk strap wrapped around your shooting hand is really all I need on either the IIIF or the X1. Very light, luxurious, and functional.

The Braidy's nice with a bit of "give", but I use the A&A silk neck strap wrapped round my wrist. I just got a Mr Zhou leather wrist strap to try out, it's very soft leather - not had a chance to use it yet. More later perhaps.

Oh and no suggestions re quick release except Leicagoodies "Hook".

Just got my Gordy's wrist strap in, thanks for the tip, Dave :). This is some serious leather - it should outlast all of my cameras! Hopefully it will become more supple with use. Sorry about the iPhone pic, it's black leather with a dark greep whipping if you can't tell. I'm impressed with it. Also, this is my first photo upload, hope it's the correct size. I reduced it to well within the resolution guidelines. Funny you have to reduce a photo from a phone!

Congratulations, they are amazingly inexpensive and absolutely functional while looking elegant, IMO.:)

I would recommend the blackrapid snapr. I use blackrapid for my dslr for years and find it a great way to carry the camera. I do not use the snapR much since I often put the camera in a waist pouch but there is a quick release catch to attach to a wrist strap pronto.
