Advertisement Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here Slate spoil. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted March 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2007 You've done that walking on water thing again! To the eye this area can look so grim in the rain: colour shots are just a waste of time; B&W brings out all the angles and flat surfaces of the unremitting greyness, yet with a touch of sun it can become a whole different place. Good choice.
andybarton Posted March 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 10, 2007 That 24 suits the M8 very nicely. Lovely shot. Pete's right - this would be so such less successful in colour.
stunsworth Posted March 10, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted March 10, 2007 Thanks it was the grimness and the greyness that attracted me to this. I never thought of it in colour, b&w all the way. Rather like Rolo I tend to think that bright sun is very, very overrated <grin> The 24mm Elmarit is outstanding. This is a lens I will be using a lot. I sharpened the shot above using the Photokit sharpeners and then dropped the aupacity of those layers to about 20%. The lens is really, really sharp. My current M8 lens plans are to use a 24/35/75 as a travelling set with the Voigtlander 15mm and Nocti as additional lenses. I already have the 24 and 35, next stop the 75 :-)

Guest stnami Posted March 11, 2007 Share #6 Posted March 11, 2007 .........that combo is starting to do wonders for you Steve, glad to see a reduction in the sharpening, now the tones start to come into their own
stuny Posted March 11, 2007 Share #7 Posted March 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve - A beautiful composition with lovely depth, details and tones. It could also be a photojournalism shot for an environmental magazine.
