Advertisement Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Hi Inspector Clouseau, Take a look here What is this ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Inspector Clouseau Posted July 19, 2012 Author Share #2 Posted July 19, 2012 DAG told me what it is. Its a SOMKY ..... used for taking collapsible Leica lenses and allowing them to get a close focus. Pretty neat. Wish I had a collapsible Summicron laying around .............. Maybe not ........... on second thought .... things can get weird in "close-up"
hoferat Posted July 19, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2012 sooky-m http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-collectors-historica/89403-sooky-m.html
Inspector Clouseau Posted July 19, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted July 19, 2012 Looks like SOOKY M was another name for the same item. Also DAG said the adapter in the photo I could attach a regular Summicron M Rigid ..... very cool. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/SOMKY

luigi bertolotti Posted July 19, 2012 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2012 As I wrote in the above linked thread, is a very usable item : most of all, perfectly compatible with the digital Ms, provided one has one of the compatible lenses.
brianv Posted July 19, 2012 Share #7 Posted July 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Wetzlar Black Summicron 50mm F2 (late 1960s-1970s) vintage also has an optics module that unscrews like the chrome Rigid lens. The Collapsible Summicron is amazingly good for close-ups when stopped down a bit. I've used it with a Leica M39 to F-Mount adapter.
