wildlightphoto Posted July 19, 2012 Share #1  Posted July 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been on a 3-week road trip, mostly to visit family in Wisconsin but I figured that if I'm passing through the rocky mountains why not stop and look for critters?  At a northern Wyoming lake I spent a day with a family of Northern River Otters. I still have many photos to process but one of my favorites so far is posted here  technical stuff: R8/DMR, 280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R, shoulder stock & monopod. Slight crop. All comments welcome. stuny Posted July 19, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted July 19, 2012 Doug - Â Superb, and not a feather in sight. I look forward to seeing more of them. Â Northern river otters are beautiful animals. The giant river otters of the Amazon basin do not have the graceful, friendly look of their smaller, northern cousins.

wildlightphoto Posted July 21, 2012 Author Share #11 Â Posted July 21, 2012 Mom tried not to get distracted while hunting but this pup wanted attention. She never had a harsh word for the pups, even when they interfered with the hunt. Dad showed up briefly but after a parental squabble he left in a huff. Â All photos: R8/DMR, 280mm f/4 APO, shoulder stock & monopod. As usual, all comments welcome.
