jahnpack Posted March 10, 2007 Share #1  Posted March 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, That's my first message in leica forum, so hello to all. I have a LC1 and want to have a wide and a tele converter attached to it.(I cant afford a lumix lw69 0.82x which is expensive and not wide enough)  I found some step rings in eBay which are 69->72mm converters.  Will i have any vignetting with step up setup or any 72mm wide angle converter will work seamless.  Thanks  Can

audidudi Posted March 10, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 10, 2007 help please i can't find a solution for days. Unfortunately, that's probably because very few of the people who own a camera of the quality of the LC1/D2 are willing to compromise its performance by using generic converter lenses. This is especially true of the people who contribute to this forum ... sorry. Â And, of course, if you do find an answer to your question, please come back and post it here so anyone who follows in your footsteps won't experience the same difficulty you are. farnz Posted March 10, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 10, 2007 Hi, Can, welcome to the forum! Â I own the D2 and looked for a teleconvertor for a long time without success. The best I came up with was a 55mm 'any-brand' lens, which would have severely vignetted, was of significantly inferior quality to the D2's Vario-Summicron, and only provided 1.5x magnification (=135mm) so I didn't bother. I read posts that said that a proprietary teleconvertor had been released 2 or 3 years ago but there can't have been many of them and they certainly stay well hidden. Â The D2 is 28mm at wide angle, which is wide enough for me, so I haven't looked for a wide convertor although I know they're out there. (I recall seeing a GOLD one on that auction site.) Â I do have the Leica Elpro-d close up lens, which is superb and worth every expensive penny I paid for it. Â HTH, Pete.
spylaw4 Posted March 10, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted March 10, 2007 Welcome to the Forum! I have also been looking for the elusive proprietary tele-lens converter without success. The Elpro D wide-angle or its Panasonic equivalent is still available and ther was thread a short time ago that had photos showing the extra width. You might like to try this link Some high-quality(?) tele converters but as audiaudi rightly says - why compromise the D2/LC1 lens quality with a non-proprietary add-on. jahnpack Posted March 10, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted March 10, 2007 hi all again, you are right with the lens compromise thing i think i'll consider it and get one original close up and lumix wide 0.82x converter. Â by the way i really like my lc1 even though it's 2,5 year camera i bought it 1 month ago after i read the reviews. but somehow it's a little bit noisy if i am not out in a sunny day. Â thanks for all of your replies can
Riley Posted March 10, 2007 Share #7  Posted March 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) i have an LC-1 and the Lumix wide converter 0.82x this is good in operation  and I have a few 69 to 72mm stepup rings I also have a Sony Video wide converter 72mm 0.8x the stepupring doesnt vignet, but the Sony vignets heavily below 50mm on the zoom is useless  if you need wide angle, you dont have any choice but the Panasonic LW69
