algrove Posted July 16, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted July 16, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been using my 24 VF on my 24/1.4 lately and did not bring my Frankenfinder on this trip. I find that using this 24 VF is to me less accurate even at father distances like 5 meters to infinity than the larger finder has been. Â I seem to remember I had a similar issue with my 21 finder also. I understand the finder is not centered over the center of the lens barrel, but remember someone stating that the Leica VF's are angled toward the lens for more accurate viewing. I can say that in the future I WILL be bringing my Frankenfinder. Â Does anyone have definitive comparisons between fixed VF and the Frankenfinder to confirm to deny what I am currently experiencing? Thanks for any suggestions.
Advertisement Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Hi algrove, Take a look here Frankenfinder better than fixed focal length VF?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted July 16, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted July 16, 2012 Even if it is angled it will be accurately aimed only at one distance.
algrove Posted July 16, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 16, 2012 Yes, how well I know. Any idea what that distance might be?
thighslapper Posted July 16, 2012 Share #4  Posted July 16, 2012 Well......as the Frankenfinder has a dial for distance it will be less innaccurate  None of these gadgets are accurate.  I think the fixed 21mm viewfinder is calibrated to be OK at 2m, so I suppose the 24 will be similar.....
