Yesterday I spent an enjoyable afternoon using an Olympus E-5 with various Leica R lenses photographing the West Front of Peterborough Cathedral ... this was taken with a 180mm f3.4 Apo-Telyt-R at f8 1/320sec ISO 160.

The photo shows 5 of the 33 statues adorning the superstructure which date from the 13th C and are carved from local Barnack limestone. Restoration to the West Front continues and during the 1950s a number of the statues were replaced - some of them are original but are in a very distressed state.

Best wishes

Closer view of two of the thirty three statues - this time taken with the E-5 and Telyt-R 350mm f 4.8 with Extender-R 2X ... 1/320sec at f8 ISO 160 ... effective focal length on 4/3 format = 1400mm ... effective aperture f16 ... shutter activation set with 2 seconds anti-shock.

Thee 350mm Telyt-R is not a popular lens but I am enjoying using it.

Best wishes

Taken with Leica X1 from same position as used for Olympus E-5 long focus lens photos; the statues are on each side of the apexes of each arch. The two statues photographed using the 350mm Telyt-R with 2x Extender-R and the 560mm Telyt-R are on the LHS of the middle arch.
