It was a lovely day and just right for my new R-lens Elmarit 180 mm to go for a first hunt to our small local zoo.

They keep a couple of rare species there. The fellow is a kind of marten with doglike features. I do not know the technical term for these animals.

They have a cave where they can sleep during daytime. This cave is covered with a glass plate so that visitors may have a glimpse into their cosy home from above. When one of the children banged against the wooden hut the animal woke up and since I had focussed already with 1000 ISO and 1/250 sec I was ready for shooting.

Looks like a Coati .. South American version of a racoon or maybe a Hedgehog?

Nice. But watch your focus, the eyes should be critically sharp. Essential in wildlife photography.

Of course it is essential. It was a snapshot , in this case into the dark, no proper sight, immediate action required. This is the way to learn and to improve and why I posted.
