Advertisement Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Hi kamilsukun, Take a look here New: C-Lux 2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
eye4detail Posted March 23, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 23, 2007 Couldn't recommend it. My C-Lux died after only 4 weeks use.
carstenw Posted March 23, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 23, 2007 Presumably it was replaced or fixed though. It is not unusual for new electronic items to die. If the manufacturer stands behind their product, it isn't really a problem in the long run.
eye4detail Posted March 24, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 24, 2007 The camera is brand new, 4 weeks old, and would be replaced by any manufacturer who values their brand. The response from Solms "...not obliged to replace the faulty product immediately as it is also stated in our warranty card that we deal with faults by repair ..." reflects poorly on the Leica brand. This doesn´t reflects poorly on Leica.  I have made good experiences with their repair service. They replaced the broken display of my D-Lux 2 for no costs even though it wasn`t clear if i caused the break by accident or not.  I understand that you are disappointed. But i would expect direct replacement from my dealer. Not from the manufacturer.
eye4detail Posted March 24, 2007 Share #6  Posted March 24, 2007 To deal with faults by repair is usual. This doesn´t reflects poorly on Leica.  It depends on the root cause. If an item fails after 4 weeks without reasonable explanation from the manufacturer it is law in my jurisdiction to replace it. I have requested a report from Leica on the cause of the problem.  What Leica choose to do with their brand is not my concern (other than influencing my future purchases).
