Oh!

And i did unscrew my lens and while there was extensive matte black paint inside I suspect it can't overcome inherent optical 'problems' presented by the Hektor's Optical Formula.

IIRC Puts said it was a large format lens design/formula not especially at home with the specific demands presented by the 35mm Format.

Whatever 'flaws' it might have, Ithink Ican do some interesting photography with my Hektor.

There are copies, and there are derivitives.

The Nikkor 13.5cm F3.5 is in the Sonnar family, a derivative. It is not a copy. The way that an optical engineer would state it: The optical prescription is different. Both lenses are 4 elements in three groups, a 1-2-1 configuration.

The main difference is in the cemented pair, the surfaces are much different. The Nikkor uses a flat cut between the elements of the cemented pair, the Zeiss solution is curved surfaces. The Nikon looks easier to make.
