leicamann Posted June 20, 2012 Author Share #7  Posted June 20, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Paul , Iduna Stewart and Tri!!  Stuart Apidae "Bombus Arcticus" .. in a wild hive there will be anywhere from 20 to 40 Bees, about 20% are tiny like this one, 40% large gigantic therest the common size we are used to seeing. This hive is a resident hive near our studio, they have been there for at least 15 years, about 10 years ago they suffered from an infestation of the virola mite, it took them a long time to recover.   Thanks again  Cheers, JRM

leicamann Posted June 21, 2012 Author Share #9  Posted June 21, 2012 John, You converted this bug in a character. Well done, intimist and beautiful.   Marc. actually my experience informs me the opposite, what WE think as bugs and animals are pejorative words that fail to describe the experience..that world is the world of Newton, a world filled with things and objects. Experience informs me that we live in a Quantum world , a multidimensional world and that these "bugs" are surprised when "people" ( humans) actually discover that they are indeed characters. Carl Jung would call that "projecting" .. I disagree..First Nations people all over the world would also disagree. Lastly , remember that Europeans also at one time had their own "indigenous" people, but that they were colonized and wiped out, though I do believe that like the land, there are small pockets and remnants of that culture that have survived.  Thanks for your interesting and insightful comment  Cheers, JRM

If I use the word "bug" it's simply because its equivalent in my usual language hasn't necessarily a pejorative sense, and even may have a very loving connotation. Having said that, I am aware of my limitations in the use of the English language. Actually, the mines are the French and the Spanish (by the way, it could be interesting other languages be used also in the forum; all we could do an effort about it). It would be a good way to preserve pockets and remnants of culture, and avoid an excessive, simplistic and uniform globalization. In any case, and to clear doubts about my interest and respect for nature, living beings and the world which surround us, please, have look to the links below and locate the folder "nature". Quantum world, Carl Jung, Europeans people and their "indigenous" people... a surprising hyperbole from such a simple review; I'm sure it could lead to a entertaining conversation, but I am not so sure that this forum is the place. Lastly, ¿How may you explain to an ant that it is an ant and you are a human being? Thanks for your comment, John.

Lastly, ¿How may you explain to an ant that it is an ant and you are a human being? Thanks for your comment, John.   Marc..well you certainly bring up many interesting topics. For one, I have no idea how or why 3 letter English words became so distilled and synthetic..there are many.. words like bat, cat, rat, bug, mug. Shakespeare in that respect really helps make the link of these words with their ancestral heritage. Both Spanish and French are very mixed languages but with just one word in these you can describe a mood, a scene, a feeling and event.  How does and Ant know it is an Ant?  I will leave you with an old story that is used as a "signature" by some Coastal story tellers  Read very slowly..   They say, Long ago.. the Mountains thought they were "The 'People" as the ages past things changed..so then..  They say.. Long ago the ' Tress" thought they were... " The People"  then again many ages past and things continued to change so..  They say, Long ago... ' the Animals " thought they were..." The People".. so for awhile that was so but inevitably things continued to change and a long period of time passed  They say, Long, lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng ago the " Human Beings" thought they were " The People"... and that is all!!  Cheers, JRM
