brianv Posted June 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2012 The Nikkor 5cm F2 is available in Leica Thread Mount, both a Rigid mount and rare (expensive) collapsible mount. Go for the Rigid lens in LTM. The S-Mount lens plus a good Amedeo adapter will run more than the native LTM lens. for one lens, not worth it. If you have a collection of S-Mount and/or Contax mount lenses, it is worthwhile. brianv Posted June 20, 2012 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2012 There is one more advantage of the Nikkor LTM Rigid mount lens: the focus goes to 18", and the threads of the mount can be filed to provide RF coupling to 0.7m on the M8 and M9. I decided to get the lens and try it with the adapter I saw on ebay, even without coupling and focus to infinitive and all those minor things(LOL) i will love to play with it and later get the amedeo adapter if decide to keep the lense. While I am as much of a contrast, clarity, & detail lover as the next Leicaphile, 0.95 Noctilux's aren't exactly issued with a forum password! :-) and (psst.. don't tell anyone) contrast clarity and detail isn't the end all/be all of photography. crispy12 Posted July 3, 2012 Share #9 Posted July 3, 2012 This lens is really heavy and well built, despite the small size. Gives a very soft yet contrasty image perfect for portraits. I use the LTM mount version. I've been thinking of selling it to fund a summicron but can never seem to do so. I think I'll just save up and keep the lens.
