jaapv Posted March 8, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) So I went to a friend who is an optician and he took out all his little lenses and we held them between my eye and the viewfinder to see what the effect was. Boy what a difference!! I'm sure I'll improve my focussing succes by half! One problem though: + 0.75 was optimum, but Leica only supplies +0.50 or +1.00 and an optician cannot grind lenses down this small. So I'll have to settle for +0.50, which is a dramatic improvement in its own right. Another surprise: the Okular 1.25 needed only +0.50 for optimum correction. I guess it has something to do with the laws of optics. Does anybody know if Leica provides correction lenses here as well, or will I have to order the Megaperls one? gravastar Posted March 8, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 8, 2007 I have the same problem. With the M8, for distant subjects I need 1.0 diopter, for close subjects 1.25 to 1.5 diopter. My solution was to buy the Megapearls adjustable magnifier. Even for distant subjects I find the adjustable more useful than the fixed Leica lenses. I can relax my eye and adjust the magnifier for best sharpness. Â Bob.
