Zeiss or voiglander hoods

IWC Doppel

Recommended Posts

Any hood options for Leica lenses with Voiglander or Zeiss, I am thinking I'd something more like the 12504 in style over the 28 summicron hood, with is quite large. Not sure if the mounting is remotely similar ?

My Zeiss ZM hoods mount in a bayonet fashion-no threads. Have no idea about Voigtlander.

The VC 35/1.4 I used to have also had a bayonet mount for the hood. Same as the ZM's. So you could exchange those. However the 28cron's hoods bayoned it different and it won't work.

Only option is the 35 lux asph hood, the expensive leica altenative or a 46mm screw in hood.

Tks, I have a 28 Summicron with the 12541, a 35 lux ASPH. with original and another 12541, plus a 35 lux ASPHERICAL with 12587 (very similar to 12451), it does seem that a 12466 at the extortionate £315 is my only alternative, neater hood option :(

I Have a Zeiss ZM35/2 and ZM 50/2 lenes plus a Summilux 50 v2. I really didn't want to risk damaging or losing the original hoods so I bought a lens hood from eBay and they fit quite nicely and as "throw away" inexpensive. They're a tiny bit smaller (62mm vs 54mm) in front diameter than the 12586 hood that came with my Summilux 50 v2.

I understand later productions the 35 Lux "Aspherical" aka the Lux 35 AA used 12588 which is very similar to the 12589 (used for the ASPH version) minus the locking ring. I was able to find a NOS 12588 but unfortunately it does not fit my "earlier" version of the AA (hood diameter is slightly too small). So it seems Leica made a change to the hood mounting ring (Leica calls it the accessories carrier) in the later production runs of the AA that came with the 12588 hood.

I'd be very interested to find out if the 12466 fits the "earlier" AA. The 12587 is way too balky for it.
