giordano Posted June 18, 2012 Share #21 Â Posted June 18, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'd been thinking of a Mac for my next notebook, but this business of sealing them so it's a "Solms job" to change battery, memory or storage has really put me off. Advertisement Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Hi giordano, Take a look here Best display. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
philipus Posted June 18, 2012 Share #22  Posted June 18, 2012 Your comment would be much more informative, if you would say what of the above statement you disagree with and why... Peter  What, I'm not allowed to express a binary opinion just like Ramchand did? It seemed to me his first post was made in jest, since it included a reference to the 50 APO.  I simply don't think the retina MBP is the best screen for viewing "travel photographs" while travelling. kdriceman Posted June 18, 2012 Share #23 Â Posted June 18, 2012 A little bulky for intensive travel and the glossy screen is just not what I think is a good way to view photos. Also. although it seems that I have every Apple product, Apple's move toward making it impossible for users to make the most basic of upgrades impossible is very disappointing. MarkP Posted June 18, 2012 Share #24  Posted June 18, 2012 I had a play with the new retina display MacBook pro in a local Apple store today and was very disappointed ... the glare is still very strong at all angles, when compared to a normal MacBook Pro side by side, the reflection is just as bad. The flashy new screen may be attractive to many ordinary folks but certainly isn't good for photographic works.  I agree with this regarding it's use for serious photo editing. I also had a look at one on the weekend. I much prefer the antiglare hi-res screen on my previous-model 15-inch i7-MBP. Th retina display reminds me of Sony Brvia TVs: all over-saturated colours and strong contrast.  Having said that it is otherwise a very nice computer, and a future model will eventually replace my current MBP when it has outlived it's useful life.
