I was invited to, and am attending, the new Leica products launch in Sydney tomorrow night at Foto Riesel. They must know I spend too much on Leica:rolleyes:.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the MM. I'll bring along an SD card and hopefully will to get to try the MM, or maybe even be able to borrow it to test at some time (I understand they may try to facilitate this at some stage) especially as I have one on order. I'd also really like to process some photographs I took myself.

I'm much less excited about the new 50 Summicron (I think).

Oh yes, and Seal will be there...

Keep an eye out for Dave Grady (davegrady1 on the forum) as he is going to be there as well. You will probably be able to spot him as I understand he's planning on bringing his Hyperprime 50/0.95 lens. Dave always was a bit of a rebel.

You boys have fun!!!

Keep an eye out for me ill have a green domke bag and im sure the hyperprime will make an appearance at some stage during the night, though I'm not going to take it out and flaunt it around especially at a Leica event.

It was a really good night last night, Enjoyed listening to Seal talk about Leica stuff in general as well as the M9M. After most people left we were able to have a play with the M9M, Hermes & S2.

Have added 2 shots of Seal from event and 3 with the M9M with 35 Lux as Seal took the 50 Cron (they aren't anything special but just thought I'd share)

Leica would do much better to train people to service their gear in the southern hemisphere rather than turning up the sales volume and neglecting existing customers.

Really, there is no reason for Australians to buy gear from local distributors. They appear to neglect loyal customers (unless you have drunk the cool-aid) and good luck getting any service if something goes wrong.

Agreed my M9 went to Camera Clinic twice and took 5 weeks to get fixed. After first trip my 35 cron came back broken, sent it back and what should have been considered a priority after breaking the cron it still took them 2 weeks to do it.

Dave, Leica are not listening here to its loyal customers. I will buy everything in future from B and H if they are going to firstly charge more than the US prices and secondly offer no repair service.

My thinking is that they need to get rid of Adeal and get a proper distributor in place.
