Links to commercials

Advertisement (gone after registration)

Recently I noticed something strange:

 

When I am not logged in into the Forum I see many links from postings to commercial advertising highlighted in red letters. Many words which are often used in postings show those links, e.g. "Leica lens" "compact camera", "Nikon", "Fuji" all lead to Amazon offers for these products. "Kodak" is also linked but leads to the Kodak website. This does not only happen in my own postings, but in those of many other users as well, when I read them logged off.

 

Those links highlighted in red disappear as soon as I log in - then all words I mentioned above are just ordinary parts of the text.

 

I first thought this was a new "feature" of the Forum and was already going to protest, when I found out that this strange linking happens with my own MacBook Pro, but does not show when I use a different computer (Windows) - neither logged in nor logged out.

 

Has someone else seen this as well? I already was suspicious that my MacBook Pro attracted some sort of "virus", which causes this strange linking. Though I see the same links highlighted in red when I go to the Forum with an iPhone: same behaviour, links when I am not logged in into the Forum, which disappear when I log in.

 

Can someone give me advise what to do to get rid of this?

I just found out that those links I described above are labelled: "Shopping links added by SkimWords".
