dtoh Posted May 31, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 31, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just wondering if most M8 users upgrade their firmware? i bought my M8 in 2007 and have never loaded any firmware since. I just checked, am still on firmware 1.107, (my camera can only take 2GB cards, i have loads of 2GB cards, hardly need em cause i usually shoot about 30 shots in every shoot). Oddly i am still happy with the factory firmware that came with it. Do most M8 users upgrade their firmware? Jeff S Posted May 31, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2012 Of course...lots of changes, big and small. There's a reason these become available. BTW, if you download the latest, all else is included. Jeff
Guest Ming Rider Posted June 1, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2012 To not carry out a free upgrade, is to deny the very thing that makes us human.

dtoh Posted June 2, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted June 2, 2012 Thank you all for your views. I will likely try the newer firmware. Regards, Daryl http://www.dtohphoto.com
Jeff S Posted June 2, 2012 Share #6 Posted June 2, 2012 I will likely try the newer firmware. Well you won't "try" it in the sense of being able to go all the way back to the version you're on if not satisfied, as my link clarifies for version 2.002 (or 2.005 for updated shutters). But, that's ok because you'll be glad you did (although if you have saved some user profiles, you might have to reset them, again as noted). dtoh Posted June 8, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted June 8, 2012 I agree. Maybe he is not using AWB at all... Hi Jaap, thanks for dropping by my site. Those shots in my site were taken by a M8 and MP. The M8's AWB does need a bit of work in PP. Thanks again for the tips. Regards, Daryl http://dtohphoto.com
trs Posted June 8, 2012 Share #11 Posted June 8, 2012 One of the most important upgrade for me was for shutter issue in (silent mode + continious mode). As much as I was carefull, I fell in the trap (in dark light), costed me about $600. Fix came few months after that.
