M Lens supply increasing?

I can't find any 35mm FLEs for sale anywhere and the few new ones on eBay are 2-3k USD over retail.

There was a production run of Summilux 50mm lenses and Summicron 28mm lenses but they are beginning to disappear now from vendors inventory.

There certainly has been an upsurge in used lenses in some dealers' lists. Maybe those owners anticipating a new Leica system camera were clearing out their unused/unwanted stock of M-lenses.

The latest 35 lux asph waiting time is still around a year. But I found the used M lens price drop a little bit this year.

I think that depends upon what part of the world you are in. I've seen two current 35 Summilux lenses available from dealer stock here in the UK.

The used prices are down considerably – or at least there doesn't appear to be any appetite to pay above new price for used mint lenses of any kind. There might be another 'bubble' like there was last Summer but I don't get the sense that the M system is quite the flavour of the month that it was for a couple of years after the release of the M9. I'm not sure the MM has changed anything in that regard.

I got my M9-P from a dealer a couple of weeks ago. When I jokingly inquired about a chrome 50mm Summilux, to my surprise he said that he had one in stock. I wasn't planning to buy one so soon but couldn't pass up the opportunity knowing that they are in short supply.

I told him that my next purchase would be to upgrade my 90mm pre-ASPH Summicron with an APO-ASPH one. His reply was "We actually have two units of the 90mm APO on order. When we placed the order, our salesman gave an ETA of "forever less a day"". Well, it might take that long for me to be ready for this upgrade anyway.

My wife had the fortune of calling Mayfair two weeks ago and being told that there was a 35 FLE there, exceptionally, since the person who had ordered it had changed their mind. She paid immediately over the telephone and picked it up in person later. It's my 40th birthday present, which she has now hidden somewhere in the house until October.

Tell her about all the nice pictures you could take between now and October!

I can't think of a better idea to do some Spring house cleaning (of course when she's out and about).

Used prices are down for 50 Summilux ..selling for about $36-$3700 used. Noctilux is selling for $10600-11,000 used. 35 FLE is going for standard retail used also. Of course this all means supply is up.

Some discontinued lenses like the 75 Summilux are still going up.

My spouse hid a gift inside an empty 3 gallon popcorn can, the kind people send you as a gift.

I found it within 48 hours and was not even looking for it.

Something similar happened before that so so gifts are no longer hidden.
