Talked to a couple of places here in the local area (DC/Baltimore) - estimates range from the last week of May, to the middle of June. Â I think that depends on where you live. The first X2s were shipped last week and delivered this week (at least here in Germany). Â Your dealer should receive the first batch soon . IMHO there is no reason and together with the ELV and grip (and maybe leather bag) the camera goes up to 2500 Euro, and that is really too much eben the IQ is good. I would be thrilled if it actually shipped next week here in the Baltimore/DC area, but I'm patient and will be happy if it's in my hands prior to my vacation late in June. Â I have an M8 (with the really good Elmarit-M 2,8/28 ASPH.) - which produced stunning images, despite its age of almost 6 years now. Â But the X1/X2 simply is a smaller, more comfortable form factor - and it's low light capabilities are much better than those of the M8. Â I - for my part - wish for a M10 with an integrated sensor cleaning system - that is another reason why I prefer the X1/X2 to the M8/28 combo ... a clean sensor . (and yes, I know how to clean a sensor - but the M8 seams to magically drew new dirt). Â Most of the time the M8 is mounted with the WIDE Tri-Elmar or a 50 or 90 mm lens ... in addition to the X1/X1 36mm ... this makes a pretty good combo. Â @ Feudal1: I was close to order mine in black as well - but decided to get the silver version instead. And I don't regret the decision for one second. Â Interesting enough, the X2 is being shipped for 1 1/2 weeks now, but the EVF-2 and the Leathercase is still on the waiting list (for another 10 to 14 days, according to my dealer who procured my X2 on May 11th). Starting to look like the X2 won't hit the US until sometime in June at the earliest. European and Asian markets are getting it first, it seems, North America last. Disappointing, hope it's not true. Not brick walls or text on wall mind you, but some real photos that show the color and rendering qualities of the X2. Also would like to hear your general impressions of the camera when using it. I have preorders through a local camera shop, and the Leica store in DC, neither of whom have received shipments yet. Hoping it's next week, but they're not sure.
