nick.edwards1 Posted May 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can anyone help. I am periodically seeing strange colours on some of my photos - large blocks of magenta, large blocks of cyan and even orange sometimes. Then some photos are OK. I assume I will have to send it back to Leica for repair. Any advice appreciated. Best regards, Nick. Welcome, dear visitor! doolittle Posted May 16, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 16, 2012 Strange alright and very annoying, especially when it ruins a really nice picture. Are you shooting raw? Does it show up like that on the lcd preview? Do you use a card reader or usb cable to transfer pictures?

nick.edwards1 Posted May 17, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted May 17, 2012 Classic "dead sensor " shots. Off to Solms, I fear. Thank you Jaapv for such a speedy diagnosis. When I first saw this problem, I suspected a faulty sensor, but was not sure as I had never seen the images that a faulty sensor produces. So, my first reaction was to do as I did - post the pictures on this forum - hoping that Jaapv will see these and sure enough I get the answer within an hour!!! How good is that!! A big thank you - I for one appreciate very much the expert advice that we get here from yourself in particular but not forgetting the other regular experts who have helped me in the past. I feel a bit depressed knowing that I will be without my M8 for a few weeks so the jokes do help. Best regards, Nick.

Hello doolittle, I always shoot raw, yes I can see it on the lcd, I always use a card reader to transfer the images to my Mac - I use Lightroom 3 and CS5 for processing. Best regards, Nick.
